Jacqueline’s previous role was as deputy chief executive officer with the national umbrella body, Children in Scotland. In this role, Jacqueline had strategic organisational responsibilities related to the general direction, operation, and sustainability of the organisation and a key influencing role for the children’s services sector at local, national, and international levels.

As a qualified primary school teacher with experience in the third, corporate, self-employment, and public sectors, Jacqueline has broad and varied experience in bringing leadership, creativity, and innovation to the progress and development of The Indigo Group.

Hello, I’m Vera, the Head of Corporate Services at Indigo. I graduated from the University of the West of Scotland with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy in 2013. I have worked at Indigo for over 29 years, beginning my career as a Clerical Officer, progressing to Finance Manager and then to my current role.

I manage and oversee the financial functions to meet the overall strategic objectives, my role also includes managing IT, HR and governance.

I began working at Indigo in October 2022. As the Business Development Manager, I work across many roles to help achieve Indigo’s strategic objectives. My roles include funding, promotional, marketing and recruitment as well as assisting on a variety of projects throughout the organisation.

I studied and graduated with a BA Honours Degree in Media & Communications in 2019 and have previously worked in the marketing industry within the private sector. My passion is to help others as much as possible and provide care and support to families within Indigo and the community.

During my time with the organisation, I have held a variety of roles, including Family support worker, supporting families to gain further education and/or training, facilitating parents’ classes and supporting families in a variety of ways. In 2011, I became manager of the nursery in Castlemilk, I became Head of Early Years in 2014 and in 2015 opened Garrowhill ELC.

Hello, I’m Michelle, Early Years Manager at Indigo Castlemilk.

I have been part of the Indigo family for 20 years, beginning as a Child Development Officer, then working in various roles, to most recently becoming Early Years Manager.

I qualified in 2003 with an HNC in Childcare and Education, and in 2022 returned to study a BA in Childhood Practice at The University of Glasgow, from which I gained my qualification in June 2025.

Hi, I’m Carly Milligan, Assistant Manager for Early Years at Indigo Castlemilk & Mobile Services. I’ve been part of the Indigo family since 2006, beginning my journey as a student and progressing through a variety of roles across our services, culminating in my current leadership position.

I qualified in 2010 with an SCQF Level 7 in Childcare & Education, and in 2023, I returned to further my learning with SCQF Level 8. I’m currently studying for my PDA Level 9 in Childhood Practice at Glasgow Clyde College.

Hello, I’m Ashley, I am the Early Years Manager for our Early Years Service in Castlemilk.

I have been part of Indigo for over 20 years now, with both of my daughters attending Indigo from pre-school right through to Indi Youth. I graduated from The University of Glasgow in 2015 with a BA in Childhood Practice after qualifying initially with an HNC Childcare and Education in 1999.

The part of my job which I enjoy most is working together with our children, their families and a fantastic team to make a difference and support our children and families to achieve the best possible outcomes.

Hi, My name is Amy and I’m the Assistant Manager of our Early Years’ service in The Village East Kilbride. I have worked at Indigo since they took over the Indigo at the Village nursery (formerly Toybox nursery) in 2024.

I have progressed through various roles in the nursery setting and have completed my PDA in Childhood Practice in early 2024, which has given me the ability to grow my leadership skills and support my peers through developing their own leadership skills.

Hi, my name is Debby and I am the Early Years Manager for our nursery Service in Garrowhill. I have been part of Indigo since 2007, starting in a sessional position and progressing through various roles and into my current role.

I graduated from The University of Glasgow in 2015 with a BA in Childhood Practice when my son was 8 months old.

I am passionate about our children being at the heart of decision-making, family involvement in early learning and supporting the positive mental health and well-being of our children, families and team.

I’m the Head of School-Aged Services. I oversee our Out of School Care, Indi Youth and Flexible Services.

I graduated from Edinburgh Napier in 2017, receiving a BA in Youth Work and then completed a PDA in Leadership and Management (Childhood Practice) in 2020 before becoming a parent for the first time later that year.

Hi, my name is Chanelle, and I’m the School Aged Services Manager. I have worked at Indigo for over 10 years now, starting as a sessional worker and progressing through various roles before becoming School Aged Services Manager.

I graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2021 with a BA in Childhood Practice.

Experienced finance professional with good interpersonal skills, management experience at Board and operational levels in both business and charitable sectors in senior management, operational finance and governance areas.

Currently Trustee Director of Berry UK Pension Scheme, Non-executive Director of The Indigo Childcare Group, Trustee of Greenock Medical Aid Society and Independent examiner for Kilmacolm Civic Trust

Gillian has an extensive HR background across public, private and third sectors. As a business owner, she has a valued perspective on customer service and a commercial approach.

Eilidh is a qualified Actuary and Senior Actuarial Consultant at Isio Glasgow, where she advises trustee boards on governance, risk, and actuarial matters.

Eilidh previously served as President of the Glasgow Actuarial Students’ Society, organising educational and networking events for students, and co-founded Isio’s Women’s Network, driving initiatives to promote inclusion and gender equality in the workplace.

Recognised for her leadership and expertise in actuarial valuations, project management, and team development, Eilidh brings her skills and dedication to support Indigo Group’s mission and communities.

Irene has extensive knowledge from the HR field, having spent over 30 years in a variety of roles at Marks and Spencer plc. During that time, she developed partnerships with several charitable organisations and brought insight into private and third sector collaboration possibilities.

She also has experience as a volunteer Panel Practice Advisor with the Children’s Hearing System. Irene’s background and experience bring a deep understanding of people matters to Indigo.

Jayne has a unique blend of skills and experience across communications, public affairs, conflict resolution and coaching. For over 25 years, Jayne has been helping organisations and individuals to be heard and understood.

With a particular interest in equity of opportunity for children and young people as well as parental engagement, Jayne has been involved with education at a community level and is a Lay Member of the Education Inspectorate.

As Partner at Isio, Julie is a qualified actuary and Fellow of the Faculty of Actuaries. Julie leads on a wide-ranging remit that combines actuarial expertise, third-party administration, investment consulting and defined contributions solutions for pension scheme sponsors, trustees and members.

With such broad-ranging commercial expertise in pensions, risk and the commercial sensitivities of running a successful organisation, Julie brings crucial expertise in helping to steer the organisation’s governance and risk profile.

Jim Carle has a professional background in Social Work, Public Health, Inclusion and Disabilities. Although currently working at the other end of the age range with Scotland’s elderly population, Jim’s career has been predominantly across children and families in these professional areas.

Jim is also Chair of the Scottish Government’s Ministerial Advisory Group on Disabled Children and Young People, he sits on the Early Learning and Childcare Strategic Group at the Scottish Government and the Children’s Services Leadership Group.

Jozanne has a broad range of legal expertise in the fields of charity law and corporate governance, and risk, both from third and private sector perspectives. Jozanne also sits on the Board of Aberlour Trust, bringing the knowledge and understanding of a national level board within the sector.

Stephen is Head of Retail Advancement at Specsavers, with over two decades of international experience in retail, business transformation, and strategic leadership.

He brings expertise in operational excellence, digital innovation, and people-focused leadership, and is passionate about supporting Indigo Group’s mission to help children and families thrive.

As a partner in a law firm, Rutherford Sheridan, Melissa has been a qualified solicitor since 2010. She trained at a firm focusing on criminal defence and immigration. She moved to one of Scotland’s largest legal aid firms in 2013 and managed the criminal department, whilst still maintaining an interest in asylum and immigration. She appears regularly at the Sheriff Court level and also instructs counsel at the High Court.

In addition, Melissa has experience in family law, conducting proofs at the sheriff court, along with representing clients at children referral proceedings, predominantly representing children.
