Reece's Story

Child Development Officer

Reece’s journey with Indigo began in 2017 when he started as a sessional worker whilst studying at university. This helped Reece to gain valuable experience within the childcare industry and it gave him insight into working life at Indigo (The Indigo Experience).

Thereafter, Indigo provided Reece with the opportunity to complete an apprenticeship programme as a support worker after university, where he further developed his skills relating to early learning and childcare. With the support of Indigo, Reece was able to attend college fortnightly to achieve a qualification in SVQ 3 Social Services (Children and Young People). This along with his hard work and commitment, enabled him to be promoted to a Child Development Officer at one of the Indigo Early Years services.

Reece is enthusiastic and passionate about early learning and childcare which makes him a true asset to the organisation.

“Indigo has been a great organisation to work for. All of the management team are very supportive, helping my colleagues and I to meet our goals. The playroom staff have been very helpful in guiding me through my course to become a qualified Child Development Officer.”

-Reece Watt, 2020
